Not for beginners
This is a fun heli to fly but definitely not for beginners. If you're just starting you're going to want a coaxial or "dual rotor" as they are called.
This would be a great start and your local hobby shop is almost guaranteed to have parts in stock. Please don't buy something you can't get parts for... you will need parts eventually, You Will! Blade mCX RTF
Now about the Heli-Max. I bought this one from a hobby website when it was on sale. I had very little heli experience before this and it showed as I had taken to crashing it over and over. I used plenty of hot glue to keep it in the air so I could keep learning. Since then, having gotten much better at flying it, I have added about $25 in replacement parts. I also added my own battery lead in order to use batteries that have a little more capacity and are a better price to buy. It flies like new again and I can go for about 30...
